Production
Hay & Silage Production – ‘Hylton Park’ has been providing regular clients with quality Pangola and Rhodes Hay for over 15 years. The majority of hay sold is round bales; although square bales are produced, they are mainly for our own use. No livestock is run on the hay pastures.
Approximately 222 acres (90Ha) is currently under hay production comprising of:
- 109 acres (44ha) of Pangola
- 113 acres (46Ha) of Rhodes pastures
The Pangola crop returned 30 (4x4) round bales per acre for the 2011 season.
Silage for the Feedlot has also been produced from both the Rhodes Pasture and Sorghum crops.
